How can a film get nominated for 7 awards, including best picture, but not get nods for the director or either main actor? What's up with that?

I realize I can't gripe much since Atonement was like the only major film I saw this year, but doesn't that strike anyone else a little...odd?

Hurray for Torch-y-wood!

Yes. Phew. I breathe relief and squee all at once. This episode was so so so much better than the series premier. Jeebus I feel better about this show, now.

Ok, so, ( Spoilers for Torchwood 02x02, Sleeper )

All in all, MUCH better than last week which was all, "Hi, lookame, I'm shiny and new!" This week was all, "'Sup" with a stoic nod and a flap of the coat. If the rest of the episodes meet or exceed this caliber, I will be a happy fangirl.
