my school raised tuition AGAIN!!! $1,128 per semester for full-time (6.1 units or more) grad students. this may be cheap to some of you non state university people, but another 120 someodd dollars is a HUGE raise in tuition. FOOEY. i'm not telling my mom till i get back from my trip.
also, the scramble for classes has begun. There are ONLY 8 english grad classes offered. there are ONLY 18 seats per class, and almost all of them are required classes. Some of them are down to 16 seats left already, and my registration date isn't till monday! someone's got priority....if my classes are full....oh god, i will be so beyond peeved. i so don't want to deal with the beginning of the semester begging to add thing that i have to do every freakin time. they're way strict in class limits in grad classes too. at least the undergrad class i wanna take is still totally open. oy.

i'm mostly packed...my cds are mostly done...i managed to avoid most of mom's freakout. but did get the priceless "you're driving to SEATTLE!!!" and to my dad, "did you know she's DRIVING to Seattle????" and my dad's reply was equally priceless, "stop it already, let her go where ever she wants to go. wherever she goes is fine." my dad rules.
and i got a little quality time in with my nephew. and by this i mean cleaning up the marker marks that he scrawled all over the hardwood floors. he has a cold tho, and was cranky. but he leaned in for a kiss when i kissed him goodbye. which warms the cockles of my heart...whatever cockles are.
my new purse doesn't have an secrety zipper compartments. i almost schlepped to target to get a new one, but didn't have time. i'll make do. its like a mini backpack kinda thing, which i figured might be easier to lug around all the time, cuz i can wear it on my back. but its super heavy already and i haven't even put my camera in. oy.
still a lot to do tomorrow, but mostly car stuff. i guess its good we're not leaving till 3 pm.
so this may be my last post for a while...i'll try to update from the road if ever possible.
