i'm debating whether or not to sign up for the graduate reading series at my school. a couple months ago, i maybe would have snapped up the opportunity...but now...since i'm kinda going thru a crisis of faith about my writing...and i don't even know if my writing sample will be accepted...i just don't think i can sign up. maybe if my sample had already been accepted, and i would somehow be...i dunno...validated by my university professors, i would feel more confident getting up in front of people. besides it's a long time slot, and i don't have enough decent stuff to fill it. blarg. it would be nice to have my name on a poster tho, and a good edition, possibly to my vita, but i dunno, i still can't bring myself to sign up. oh well. debate over, i guess...

aww thanks, that means a lot. i dunno. nobody i know would be able to come to it, all in the middle of the day like that. not that i would want my family there or anything...maybe friends. and i would have liked to read with someone like you. i know that we read kinda...on the same level. anja, for example, is well...out there. very animated. i don't know about david (was he the other choice?)...shrug. maybe if there is still room on wednesday, i'll reconsider.

i'm really really surprised Leliani placed me with Tracy, because we are COMPLETE opposites as far as wiriting style, ideologies present in our work, etc. but maybe she wanted those extremes?

i don't know really anyone who'll come to my reading either, honestly. my sisters said they'd come.

yeah. when i did the graduate conference thing last spring, there were 7 people in the room. only one person was there to see me. :P

ok, i broke down and requested a spot. jorge told me he took the one with david. and tho i don't really want to be paired with anja, i asked for it. i'm hoping it's taken. ;) but i figured it might look good on the TA app.
