ABC made a flurry of midseason programming announcements Thursday, including ordering more episodes of "Life on Mars" and deciding against picking up "Pushing Daisies,"

Headshaking news, that is. And in the same article:

Starting on Dec. 11, ABC will put "Mars" on hiatus and move "Private Practice" into its time period

So they're cancelling a great show, ordering more eps of a meager copy of a great show (ok, i know non-watchers of the British version kinda like it and i haven't seen past the first American ep and I shouldn't judge, but come ON!), but then moving its time slot and sticking it on hiatus for two months?

That's headscratching news.

OH Fecking hell. *Keep* LoM? And Dump Daisies?! I think I'm much more pissed about that than anything else right now.

Not that I'm particularly angry, but as TV news goes, that is the worst I've heard in foh-rever.

Stupid bastards. Have you *seen* Pushing Daisies? It is the best written TV show in forever!! I would say ever. I might say ever. At least, literarily speaking, and imho.

Doesn't make me like people any more than I did, that's for sure.

I really love Pushing Daisies. But it's a kind of witty that I think not enough people respond to. I love it, you love it, but I have a feeling too many people are a bit whatever about it. Which I don't get. I've probably laughed out loud at this show than any other normal 'comedy.'

Dunno how much you've seen, if you're up to date or what, but there was a moment when Emerson was pretending to be a priest while investigating and he said "What came to pass up in here?" and I just about died laughing for like an hour. No go try to explain why that's so damn funny. It's difficult!
