I think I actually felt my IQ plummet as I watched 90210. I mean, I don't watch these types of shows. EVER. Ever. Ever. So maybe it's not so different from the rest out there. I'm assuming so, anyway. But it was SO retarded. And omg, the commercials were longer than the show segments. I could stop and potter around the house forever and I wouldn't have enough time banked on the dvr to get through one break.
Still, it was fun to see the old faces and 'catch up.' I stopped watching Old School 90210 way before it ended, but c'mon it was totally part of my... preteens and and early teenhood at least. And ok, maybe occasionally I checked it out now and again in the later seasons. I was trying to do the math on Andrea's kid. I think they were cutting it pretty close, but maybe not. I caught the 'Silver' reveal pretty early. And I'm kinda hoping the 'mystery' is what we all think it is. Otherwise it's dumb for it to be a mystery.
I really don't know how I can possibly put myself through this again. I literally facepalmed at the stupidity of the script at least like 3 times. But I probably will watch next week anyway. To see what old faces pop back up.

But it's just like every other teen drama on televsion. Of which I've liked exactly none in the past decade. I watch very little 'normal' tv. It's all gossip and backstabbing, and people being COMPLETELY unrealistic, without the benefit of being... good. Cuz sometimes that's just fun (a la old school 90210), but this? No.

And I watched it almost religiously back in the day...when Kelly and Dylan were gettin' it on while Brenda was in Paris? OMFG and I was in my early 20's...They lost me soon after but still...I remember the draw. But I still won't go there....

Date: 2008-09-03 06:47 pm (UTC)Dude, Kelly and Dylan were such bitches!!! I think I gave up round about when they graduated high school. But it was pretty addictive before then.
But dude, Kelly and David's little sister is a main character. I totally want them to bring back Brian Austin Green all buff and tatted out and hot. I'd love to see them explain that.
