And I can't believe it's ep 7 next week already. oh, there will be much flail in the house of karen. oh wait. the week after. which is bad, since i'm moving that day and won't get to see it till late in the day. *dies*
as for this one?
Well. I'm glad they finally cleared up the whole companion issue. The whole one trip issue. And the whole Martha needs to change her damn clothes issue (even tho she still went back on board in her evening finery, didn't pack a bag or anything, lord.)
And i think it was handled satisfactorily. i mean, her demanding to be recognized as his companion and not as a passenger. for once i didn't mind her demanding something from him. she deserved it. i quite liked her in this episode, but for the puppy-eyed, smitten chick, bits. but that's ok. it's true, we can't blame her for being smitten.
i loved the Doctor getting uncomfortable and her family assuming they had just been shagging all night. hah.
the monster of the week, tho? tres lame. it would have been better if it hadn't had the human face when it was all scorpioned out. also? couldn't they have gotten a more attractive guy to play the part? is he some important british actor i don't know?
What's the deal with Saxon, anyway?
I missed chunks of dialogue when they were talking over lots of action.
The Doctor still screams a lot.
Pretty church. Is it really that church, i wonder? If so I wanna visit it. If it isn't, I still wanna visit it. They'll probably say in the Confidential, right? I hope so.
Doctor being emo this week? Handled pretty damn well. Definitely resonated. And would be just as good even if you didn't know his history, but better that way. I love how Rose is still being felt in every episode, but they stay subtle. that is good. What did he say about it's always the mothers when Mrs. Jones slapped him? That was a hellava slap, too. I loved his reaction.
I also liked them referring back to the blitz in this episode, especially considering what's coming up next time. omg. i don't know if can handle the oncoming squee.
back to this episode. um. Martha did have some nice shoes. Also, that scene in the chamber? I love how they didn't make some cheesy 'omg! sexual tension!' joke. Very big of them. Then again, did they have him playing with her knickers at the beginning? oh dear.
oh, and can i just say i flailed a little bit at the Spinal Tap reference? Ok, more than a bit.
Right, now I can go look at all the picspams i've been avoiding for fear of spoilers. And how.
I only watched about two thirds of the trailer for next week. i was fighting myself the whole time, trying to look away and press stop. And dammit, someone had to go talk about it and now i'm already spoiled for something i had avoided spoiling myself for. There may be a two-week long lj embargo.
