It's so interesting, whenever you say you used a lot of brushes I can never "see" them. What kinds of brushes did you use here? Just curious. I don't think it looks simple though!

well i tried about 8 billion. i don't really recall what i finally went with. but i was trying to add texture to the face n stuff. i think i used a gritty brush of some kind and had a glow filter on it to give the icon an overal glowing look. there may be a gradient as well. the original image was quite dark and had kind of harsh dark blue and pink lighting tones. and the text might be textured too. i know i messed with the background/glow and overall darkness of the text layers a lot too.
