i've lamented with [livejournal.com profile] alannahrose, and because i can't lament enough, i now do it in public.

i know this, as far as laments go, is pretty lame and there are far more serious things to be mad about in the world.

but for reals, the changing of the music on the Roswell dvds is like the worst entertainment catastrophy ever. EVER. i feel cheated...and and...insulted. why do i feel like that? why? we all fucking buy these dvds. fox or whoever is making oodles and oodles of money. why the hell couldn't they afford simple music rights. why WOULDN'T a band or a label or whoever want the show to use their song. shouldn't they be like...giving it away? why why why why why.

yes, i am absolutely serious. i am extremely upset.

i think that underlying these changes, is the whole idea of art, and conformity. and commodity and all that crap. i know this is a tv show, but still. the art HAD to change in order to function properly in our economic system. it was corrupted so it could reach the consumer.

it just means someone, many someones, out there are really fucking greedy. and they fuck up the stuff i like. and i HATE it.

Seriously, I am like devastated. I mean, yeah, there's worse things in the world, but I can't tell you how pissed/sad/disappointed/irate I am about this. It put me in the worst mood... I couldn't even watch any more episodes after Meet the Dupes because I was just SO DAMN PISSED. The first thing I thought was, "why did I buy this dvd set? I'm never going to want to watch it, knowing that it's not at all the same show I fell in love with..." I'm just going to go back to my downloaded eps with the CORRECT MUSIC when I want to watch it.

I am so bitter. I mean, fucking LINKIN PARK. If there was one song they needed to keep, that was it. DAMN IT.

aww, don't do that. i share your pain. believe me. but watch the dvds. don't make it for nothing. the quality alone is worth it. and i really like the menus and music this time. way better than with season 1.

Honestly, the widescreen pissed me off too. Why would they put the eps in widescreen when they didn't air that way? We aren't missing anything... I just sit there the whole time, thinking, "What song was this REALLY?" instead of enjoying the episode. Was it just me or did they change EVERY song in MTD?

I don't remember the menus from season 1 but I didn't like the season 2 ones much at all. I'll have to go back and watch some season one, I guess.

i didn't watch all of mtd, just the first two minutes or so.

i for one like the widescreen. its better for capping purposes, cuz my control bar thingy sits in the letterbox at the bottom, and doesn't cut off the image. plus i just like widescreen better. even if they didn't air that way.

the song bother me only when they were very memorable, or the new choices very inappropriate. that didn't happen TOO often in season one. just that when it does, its infuriating.
