gah, the weather is so weird...

i woke up to the strangest yellow light outside. like maybe fire and ash outside. i dunno what i expected when i pulled back the curtain.

what i saw was bank of solid dark gray clouds with about the same thickness of blue sky above it and a ginormous rainbow arcing through half the sky.

i don't think i've ever seen a rainbow this early in the morning. groggily i fetched my camera. but the batteries in it were dead (and they were the spares). i got the batteries out of my tv remote and put them in there and tried to take a picture through my window. a. it is ASS cold outside and b. there is the screen to deal with. and my camera couldn't quite capture the colors.

i went to the potty hoping to put my shoes on and go outside afterwards, but even in those two minutes everything changed. when i came back there was no rainbow, the sky was mostly clear out over the valley, but it was pouring right over my house.

currently its lightly raining and the sky is like mottled with dark gray clouds mixed with bright white ones.

i tell you that yellow light was the weirdest thing about it....

hmm.

does anyone use download managers? i'm having a helluva time with downloads lately. Things hang totally randomly. can be the middle, the end. seconds left on a huge file and NOTHING i can do can get it started again. and its not cuz my interent goes down, it doesn't. i can't figure out why its doing this all of a sudden. i hope its not virusy. sometimes they start back up on their own, but that's pretty rare. mostly i just have to redownload. and it doesn't even start from where it left off, but starts anew. and this is WITH the imbedded mozilla download manager. i try to pause and resume a few times to make it go, but that doesn't seem to do much.

a lot of times it happens when i step away from the computer for a while and then come back and touch something. but i can't really find a pattern to the fowlups. it's getting on my last nerve.

so. is there a download manager out there that you would recommend? one that is ad-free and hopefully free free. because i'm poor.

hmm. yup, there it goes again. this is getting ridiculous!
