it was good. really different than last week. not so much with the new songs. it was weird cuz there were two openers, kinda. first was this guy Dan Wilson, apparently the frontman of the band Semisonic. They had that godawful song "Closing Time". But he was actually pretty good. He played on song on guitar, one on piano, and then like two or three with sean and sara. then there was a break and sean and sara played. then there was a break and glen played. then sean and sara came up to finish the set. it went till midnight, but it still felt like a short show, i guess cuz they do that extended banter deal. they played some interesting songs together for a change. but i swear if i hear them do windmills again i will fucking scream (ok, maybe no scream), but i'm pretty fucking sick of them playing that song. anyhoo. glen told some interesting stories about his girls, and how they were flirting shamelessly with Dan, even the baby, once she figured out it was the thing to do. Also he mentioned that he's afraid that his two older ones will be covering for each other when they're teenagers. my friend Soli, who'd never seen glen before was impressed, tho she had three apple martini's and practically fell asleep in the front row. we were off to the side, in the first row of tables next to the booths, and i had the far seat which meant everybody who came on stage had to squeeze past between the booth and my chair, so i spent most of the evening pressed as close to my table as possible. still it was good fun, but i didn't get to hear half the songs i wanted, but that's ok.
