I'm tired as hell and i'm not gonna take it anymore! work thru the yawns! work? newp...just livejournal. i don't think there's been a time in my adult life (with the exception of when i was sick, cuz that SOOOO doesn't count)...i'd say not since...oh the summer before 12th grade that I ever had a month of vacation. I mean granted most of the first half was spent running all over creation, but still. and now i've had a good two weeks to vedge. sleep when i want, as late as i want. i mean it's not really relaxing cuz my brother is here too (tho he starts working again next week). And i'm almost too stressed to enjoy my freedom...money school poetry...soooo much to do.

I realized yesterday how much I need to be writing. I'm gonna be taking (hopefully) a graduate level poetry class. No doubt i will need to produce a GRIP of poetry, and since last semester i've had horrible writers block. i'm out of ideas. i've said all there is to say. and all that's left is to get experimental, and that always seems like a copout to me, because i don't even like that kind of stuff. but brilliant today means being incomprehensible (check out Jorie Grahm, for instance, i hate her stuff, but ppl love her). Billy Collins, much more my style, but far more brilliant that i can ever hope to be. I'm not GOOD at this stuff...why do i persue it?

Anyway. It seems now that all the buffy season 3 dvds that all the bestbuys got were defective in some way. it's happened all over. i so don't even want to deal with it. but i will since disc 1 is now too fucked up to play. grrr. i kinda don't even wanna call...maybe i'll just go over there and get store credit and pick it up later (course then it won't be onsale...i'll have to make sure i get that price).

So Glen Phillips. I love him. He's the best thing ever. Last night was really fantastic...for a little while. He said at the outset that he was going to try and only play unreleased songs, songs that have never seen an album. And idiots were yelling out Toad songs, which he obviously didn't want to play, as well as songs from his first album. He played one entirely new song which was...god...amazing... the chorus said something about "give love or get out....don't bring another half life in this house" don't know the order or if there was stuff in there, but he is just the most amazing song writer and sings with such passion. you just don't see it when he's up there with Toad, but solo...

but of course Sara and Sean Watkins were there (of the now Grammy nominated Nickel Creek) opening for him, which was great cuz i love them (and kinda dispise the third member of their group who almost never shows up at Largo, so yay). But after Glen played only several (there were prolly a lot, glen's songs are short) songs by himself sean and sara joined him to finish the show. normally great, but last night i was just really into glen being up there by himself. and then they fall into playing Toad songs cuz that's what Sean and Sara like...and blah. I could have handled two hours of just glen. that would have made me happy. Also i was far enough to stare intently and not seem stalkeriffic in my gaze. Ahhh...he just makes me all warm and fuzzy. And another show next week! yay!
need to get all prettied up to go out and face the world (which consists of a coffee shop and best buy)...and i am so tired, i don't wanna do any of it. but i gotta get some breakfast (can't really afford it, but my parents delight in keeping a kitchen full of food that one simply can't eat, a multitude of chicken broth, canned tomatoes, and skeezy cheeses, for example).
