Happy Torchwood Day!
Jan. 16th, 2008 10:01 amIt's been, what, over a year since the last ep aired first run? By rights it should have aired months ago? All I'm saying is that it better pay off.
Yeah, I liked it the last go 'round. Since then, it's lost a LOT of luster for me. I'm a member of that major comm but haven't been in there in months, for fear of spoilers. I haven't seen the trailers or the first 15 minutes or anything. I am spoiled for that casting thing and what happens with said cast member in (i think) the first ep, unfortunately.
But what can you do. So, I'll be posting reviews, but I probably won't be as active in this subset of fandom as I was the last time Torchwood eps are fresh and shiny.
My hopes and dreams for this series:
What I'm most interested is, is the effect on and from the Who storylines directly. I'm hoping Martha will be vastly fleshed out. Does she start right away? No, don't tell me, I'll figure it out. I'm giving her another chance, and I hope that without her mooning she'll be more palatable. I'm hoping, Jack, too, will be reinvigorated by his time with the Doctor, and getting some of his questions (that made him so emo in S1) answered.
I'd like some more background on Owen and Tosh, to be truthful, but I'm still hoping for a lot of Gwen. And more implied/possible/maybe Gwen/Jack which was truly the most interesting thing about S1 for me.
No episodes like Small Worlds that tease with Jack's history and completely fail at everything in general.
More episodes like They Keep Killing Suzie that are funny and dark and scary and wonderful.
Funny Ianto. I really want less emo all around for this show. Please?
I'm over Ianto/Jack. Ok? I just am.
More Myfanwy!
That is all. Update in... six or so hours. :)
