karenorI totally just watched Utopia again. This show, I swear, it's so good, it' hurts. Ok, so mostly I started watching to satisfy my curiosity about the Doctor's oddly short hair. I remembered that it was shorter at some point. It appears to be only one scene...the first one with all of them in the lab type place. Must have been a later reshoot.
But I ended up watching most of the episode again. Only fast forwarded through a few bits. And yeah I was mostly right about the Jack dates. Arrived in 1869, didn't die the first time till 1892. So not quite 30 years, more like 23, still, long enough to notice somethings not right. Except I dunno, maybe people from Jack's original time aged slower? Who knows.
I was particular watching the Doctor's face during his conversations with Jack. Man but DT can act. Tiny, minute differences in his face to show his emotions. Like when Jack first mentions Rose. Just the very slightest frown... And of course the whole "You're wrong" talk. The swallowing thing he does when he gets emotional. Oh dear. It's moving, but also very hot. Forgive me, but it is. Anything that draws attention to his neck. I've never been such a neck fetishist before! Back the to point.
The way he says "Jack!" after the "Do you want to die?" question? I got chills. Again, one of the best scenes in television. Ever.
I totally want RTD's babies. I don't care that he's gay and taken and totally not hot. He's brilliant! Think of the children!
