i made this all by myself! and it kinda looks ok! right? check me out with the outlined text! ok, this thing took me...oh i dunno...maybe five hours of work trying to figure stuff out. i know its nothing fancy, but i'm hella proud. it is of course Lonnie, from the "Meet the Dupes" episode of Roswell (aka my favorite tv character ever). And the quote is from the ep as well. Someone says it to her and then she does that stare/smile thing.

here's the screencap i started with:

and it scaled down:

so from those humble origins, i did ok, right? someone please give me some much needed afffirmation!

thanks. i know its feeble. but i'm trying. i gave up on brushes (i tried, i really did, but what color should they be??? i don't KNOW) after much lame attempting, and finally when i had it all done, in its current state, i decided it needed a border. after about another hour of futzing, i gave up on that too. i'm gonna work on it more later today.

It's NOT feeble! It really looks good.

Re: brushes... they can be whatever colour you want. It depends what look you're going for and how light or dark they are in the first place. I haven't done much with them yet either but I've been trying them out. I've found some amazingly cool ones through the links I sent you.

Borders are super easy (at least basic ones)--there's a great "how to" in one of the links I sent... here:

well thank you again.

i saw that tutorial. i was trying to make it go by following those directions, but i couldn't get more than one color's worth (couldn't do the beveled thing). i may try it just manually, but i don't think my icon has much room for border anyway...

at least i picked a hott cap, tho right? i even capped it myself. go me!
