karenorok, i'll get to talking about my travels, i swear i will. but first and foremost:
remember the paper i was stressing out over. for my lit class. the one i took a day off to write, and still thought was total crap. well my professor didn't have them all graded by the time of the final, so he said we could leave him a sase and he would send back the graded essay. Here are his comments on the paper, and keep in mind, this is the hardest lit class (or class ever really) that i've ever had:
Weeeee! I had my mom read it to me over the phone when i was in San Jose. My toad peeps were singing "Amnesia" and was trying to listen and i thought my mom was making it up when she was reading it until she got to the close reading part....And for extra fun, my brother (the married one who continually blatantly hints to me what a fuck-up i am for being in school so long) was there and was wowed by the comments i received. my mom made sure to tell my sister-in-law too, cuz she couldn't count on my brother to convey the info.
and what are my other 3 grades, you ask? A, A, and A. That's right. Straight A's. for the first time EVER. in my last semester. woo! Also means Dean's List, for the third semester in a row. Go me! ok, i'm gonna go check if it's been computed in my gpa yet. please hold....it's not up. but by my calculations...and it took me a while to figure it out, my cum gpa will be a 2.95. Well if that doesn't put a damper on my cheery mood. pfft. it couldn't be pushed up a LITTLE higher to a 3.0?!?!!? I've worked my ass off for 4 years (since my 'disqualification'), including getting cancer in the middle and barely missing a beat. i would really love for it to show in the cumulative gpa...ok. i'm bored so i will show you how good i've actually done. I was disqualified in fall 98. the next semester i took one class and was reinstated conditionally. here are my grades following that drama, until now:
Spring 99: B+
Fall 99: B-, A-, A
S 00: A-, A, C+, B (the last two are geology and antrhopology)
F 00: A, C+, A (and two withdrawals. this was the semester i got sick and so one must keep in mind that all these courses were actually completed in Fall 01 along witht the 5 other ones listed in F 01. Yes that is 7 courses in one semester, btw.)S 01: A, B, A
F 01: A, A-, A, A (So close to straight A's, i still said i got them)
S 02: A, A, A, B+, A (B+ is in geology)
F 02: A, A, A, A
see. i done good.
alright. that's good for now. i need to shower and have some sort of breakfast before having christmas with my best friend's family.
