pretty people with guns.
Jun. 27th, 2008 01:03 pmJust come back from seeing Wanted. The theater sold out a 10:15am weekday show! That's awesome.
The movie was lots of fun, if a little silly. But if you take the silly with a grain of salt, it doesn't get much in the way of the fun. Lots of pretty. Lot's of things go splodey. Not enough nakedness, imho (especially for the rating, but there was lots of blood and stuff). Oh well. Only a wee bit was shot in Prague. For some reason I'd thought most of it was. Whatev.
It was like a less pretentious and less flash Matrix in some respects. McAvoy's fake accent was a little bit disturbing at first, but it's better when not in voiceover and you kinda get used to it.
Also, Angelina Jolie + guns = WIN. It just does. The studios know the formula.
Recommended, it's a good time for all. If you don't take it too seriously. Especially the 'loom' business.
This quote from a review amused me, a lot:
While it unquestionably glamorizes murder as a sexy national pastime, you also can't deny that the movie is at least, occasionally, sort of badass.
