karenor: (amanda didn't do it!)
the pest people aren't coming till tomorrow to get the critter out of the trap outside my window. it kept me up half the night, i swear. things are nocturnal, which so doesn't work with my schedule. it's making quite a racket right now. but at least it's still alive. i felt pretty bad for it. it's been in there since sunday morning. my roommate said she was going to feed it (her old roommate works/worked? at the zoo, and gave us tips on what to give him) but i don't think she has, because she got home after me and i haven't seen the light go on outside. i checked in the morning to make sure he was still alive. and he was. but it's pretty cruel, leaving him there to starve. it's called a "have a heart" trap, because it catches them alive and then people come and release it somewhere else. but apparently they don't have hearts on sundays or when people have the day off. at first when i called today they said they would send the manager out, since the tecnician for this area is off today. then they called later and said they weren't coming till tomorrow afternoon. by which time the critter could well be dead. i should think. he's definitely less active tonight. am i complicit in animal cruelty now? wtf? i just wanted them to stop crawling on my roof in the middle of the night. dammit.

anyway. turned in my final packet for poetry workshop. yippeeeee. tomorrow i need to rewrite my story and write another one, which contains the line "Virgil is the frog boy". i think that's the line. apparently the whole class writes one of these and we don't put our names on them and we read random ones out loud and try to guess who wrote them. this is on wednesday night. a party at my professor's house. after which i will have to come home and tidy my room because apparently the owner is finally coming to paint in here (like she said she would before thanksgiving). i don't know why she's bothering. i clearly don't care. might as well wait till i move out. makes NO sense to me. bah. and then thursday is the big company christmas party. more drunken coworkers. hurrah! hopefully better food that won't make me want to die. i'll be celebrating not only the holidays, but my liberation from school. yayyayayyayayayayyyy!

i made my secret santa recipient brownies. now i have to figure out how to slip them onto her desk when she's not looking. apparently the rest of the dept. is doing small gifts rather than one big one, which is what i did. whatevs. baking is fun.

i'm cold and not tired. which means possum is going to keep me up again. unless he's dead. in which case, that idea will keep me up. ah well. nighty night.
