our turkey isn't done yet!!! oh noes!!! it looks and smells done, but the two thermometers say there is time left yet.
so far, i have made:
the most complicated cranberry sauce EVER. it took literally about 2 hours of chopping. figs, apricots, pears, apples and pecans. mix that with simple syrup and fresh cranberries and a spices. but cooking it was an ordeal. i was supposed to add orange puree, but we didn't have oranges, so i made tangerine puree, and then promptly completely forgot to add it to the sauce... we added a bit at the end, cuz my mom insisted it needed it. but not all of it. i claimed ownership over the sauce. and it is great. now we're trying to cool it.
pumpkin soup. with my and my parents each having different ideas of what it's supposed to taste like. again i just had to claim it. my mom cut up the veggies for me, since my arm and shoulder ached already from all the chopping. and now its simmering to get all soupified. even tho it tastes fine as it is and i want to eat it RIGHT NOW.
now i need to help my mom with stuffing. which we haven't started yet. and the house is still a mess. and we haven't set the table and people will be here in an hour and a half.
ain't thanksgiving grand!!!
i better go. hope all of ya'll are having a lovely turkey day. :)
