so i've changed my resolution to 1280x1024. its supposedly the best setting for this monitor. the old resolution had all my icons looking rectangular rather than square. things weren't just bigger. but now, tho everything looks good, its SMALL. it will take some getting used to. i'm curious as to how it will affect my screencaps. because they were always taken at full screen size. i guess. i'm hoping the program isn't influenced by resolution. its so weird. they used to fill up my whole screen when i looked at them. now they barely fill up two thirds. i wish there was a way to pick your own resolution. one with the right aspect ratio, but bigger than this.

its gonna be even harder to make icons. they're smaller! bah.

when i looked up the manual for the monitor on dell i couldn't find it on the 17" models. i think this is actually an 18" monitor, if that makes any sense. it's model number is 1800 something, and the specs say the diagonal viewable image is 18 something inches. how weird is that.

anyway...
