well, i've finally got a new browser. mostly cuz that business with lj comments pages that i complained about a while back. it never fixed itself. and it was getting most annoying, especially in polls, cuz i couldn't submit my answers unless i clicked on poll#904606816 or whatever. so i got the new version of Netscape, cuz i was always a netscape girl, and its a little disappointing cuz its just firefox. it barely pretends to be netscape at all. i know they were always kinda one thing anyway, but i liked the netscape interface. it works ok once i figured out how to make the tabs go away. i HATE tabs. they supposedly save memory, or whatever, but i hate the way they look. i can't stand anything extra in my way. big drawback, tho, there is no mail program with netscape anymore. boo! so my old netscape mail still works just fine, but if say there is a link in the email, when i click on it, it will open the old browser, not the new one. which bugs, cuz then i still have the issue with lj comment pages when i go to them from an email. having the new one as my default doesn't fix matters.

i get that a lot of people don't use mail programs anymore cuz everyone and their mama has webmail, but i LIKE mine, even tho i can't SEND mail from it (never figured THAT one out), its convenient for things like notifications and whatnot. i don't want all that crap cluttering up my personal mail, and at the same time, i need to see it. so what to do?

p.s. i need new icons. stat.

i am SO freakin NOT crazy.

i DID feel an earthquake today. It was at work a little after 2pm. (yes, on a sunday, yes its very sad). And i was sitting at my desk, and i felt things like swaying and stuff. and i HEARD it. there is no sound quite like a building being moved by an earthquake. but when i got up to check if other things were moving, i couldn't really decern whether or not they were. the stick for the blinds on a window seemed to be maybe swaying a little. so i pulled up the scec website and it wasn't popping up. they usually show up there within a few minutes. I kept checking for a while and still nothing. I just checked right now and there it was, a 4.9 at 2:11 today 47 km SSE of San Clemente Island. Which puts it right at the coast, about...60 miles north of here.

anyway, i know its not very exciting. but i was very bored. also, its nice to know i didn't imagine it.
