hey, any of you norcallers feel this one? it was in Cambria, so central coast-ish. its about...i dunno 150-200 miles away from me, but it was a 6.5 and i felt it really strongly. it thought i was dizzy for a sec, but everything else was moving too. i went to the doorway and was like rocked back and forth in it and watched the door across the hall go back and forth too for like a minute and a half. it was the WEIRDEST thing. we're used to the jolters, if we feel them at all. but i knew this one had to be big and far to go on for that long. its hard to get over that swaying motion...i still kinda feel it, tho it was like an hour ago, and its hard to tell whats aftershocky or whats psychological. i don't think we'd be able to feel aftershocks here anyway, not unless they're over 4 or 5 points...

anyway. it was weird. we haven't had ANY major activity in SO long. i wonder if this will rile things up. god, its been almost TEN years since northridge. i was 15. crazy.

ok enough reminiscence. i got crap to do.

we felt it up here, although I didn't really feel it, I thought it was a truck going by. Weird as hell though, I was THINKING about earthquakes, about what we would do here if we had a big one in the office, and my email beeps and its a company wide email that says there was a 6.0 in Cambria. Strange.....
Also, if you go to the USGS website, there have been like 40 aftershocks, they have been going on all day, some over 4.0. It's insane, looking at the week before where there was like one lil 2.2 a day maybe, and there have been 40+ quakes just since 11:30 this morning. We had a lil quake here last week though, someone told me they thought a big one was on the way. *sigh* Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah (sp?), duck and cover.

:) 6.5 even. it went on FOREVER here. literally like almost 2 minutes, i think. i've been checking the eqk list. i have it bookmarked (always have). ;)

they say its 5-10% chance of it being a foreshock. wouldn't THAT be fun. heehee.
